Love Austin Music: Urban Heat

By: Laurie Gallardo

Brace yourself for an enthusiastic onslaught of adjectives. Today’s Love Austin Music Month feature on the AMM brings you a lightning rod of dark electro/proto-punk/new wave/synth wave/part goth/part industrial sound that is all the things but…simultaneously transcending them into something fresher. It’s the portal that leads your ears to Urban Heat. Jonathan Horstmann, Kevin Naquin and Paxel Foley started releasing Urban Heat tracks in 2019. Mad love for these pulsating analog adventure times, and more are on the horizon.

Urban Heat is part of yet another fantastic line-up in a residency show starring electro-pop trio KVN tomorrow night, Thursday Jan. 27, at the Mohawk. They’re joined by Belgrade-born Austin-based pop artist Arya. Doors open at 7 p.m. And please remember to bring your mask.
