Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Anand Wilder (Yeasayer) released his debut solo LP I Don’t Know My Words last year, a revelatory glimpse into his existence during the pandemic. During his isolation, memories of the music he grew up with – Cat Stevens, The Beatles – songs that his mother played at the house, came flooding back. Wilder describes the writing process for the album as translating the musical mood of his childhood for his own family today.
Anand Wilder performs tomorrow night, Wednesday June 7, at Mohawk on the indoor stage. Austin folk rock outfit Large Brush Collection opens the show. Doors at 7 p.m.
