The title of Abraham Alexander’s debut release SEA/SONS suggests a couple of things. There’s definitely a reflection of the time he spent growing up in Greece by the seaside with his brothers, before relocating to Texas. And then, the idea of seasons – not so much about the weather, but the changes in our lives. The album takes the listener on a raw emotional journey through loving tributes to his family, loss and grief, the struggle of injustice, and the determination to remain in light despite the darkness.
Following a performance in KUTX’s Studio 1A, Abraham Alexander has a show tonight, Wednesday June 7, at Antone’s, with special guest Madi Davis opening. Doors at 7 p.m.
