Gotta roll out all the jams this holiday season for a very important cause – a huge thread in the fabric of Austin’s very livelihood, going beyond the hashtag. Local musician Jelly Ellington sent out the call to several Austin music artists for an annual holiday event supporting local music venues. They’re showing up to #SaveOurStages.
Jelly’s 8th Annual Christmas Jam, a celebration of local talent benefitting Save Our Stages, features performances by Tameca Jones, Zach Person (“Can’t Stop Running” is on today’s AMM), Sir Woman, and Torino Black, along with special guests joining Ellington for the all-out jam session, including Sam Houston, Dave Scher, Chris Castañeda and many others.
Doors open at 6 p.m. tonight, Friday December 4, at Empire Control Room, 606 E. 7th St. This is a socially-distanced event; masks are required. Find ticket info on Empire Control Room’s website. You can also stream live at Ellington’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
