Heads up, hoodlum. You need this dose of ridiculously cool music that you’ll find at The Ballroom tomorrow night, Friday Sept. 2. Just think: Chaos. Recklessness. Deviant. Loud. You know. All the stuff that’s good for you.
- Welcome to the coolest thing you’ve never seen. Or maybe you have experienced the glorious trash/glam punk party that is Lord Friday the 13th. The siblings Lenz, Sloan and Felix, deliver their badassery with wicked whimsy and frenetic flair. Claws sharp. Fangs out. I’m a PTS-Deity, baby. Rawk those bat wings.
- Unleash the riot (grrl). ATX queer post-punk outfit Transy Warhol is obliterating gender norms and inspiring mighty mosh pits. AMM fave track: “Carve Me Out.” Though “My Head Is A Tomb” is neck-in-neck. “I don’t want to do this together / But I can’t do this alone / Everyone else is so fair weather / I’d rather be left alone…” Anthemic.
- Do not adjust your set, fiend. Animals On TV invades the broadcast as pop-rock commingles with what they’ve branded as “upscale punk – and wherever our noses take us.” Don’t fight it. The volume on the remote is permanently locked on loud.
Doors open at 9 p.m. Show no mercy.
