The title alone is enough to evoke intrigue. For A. Sinclair, it fits perfectly. It’s a dark feeling. And it begs the question: Is “Secrets” shrouded in mystery, or it simply brooding over the emptiness of solitude? Is this where we keep our secrets?
Mixed by Justin Douglas (King Electric Recording Co.) and mastered by Mr. Pink Records head honcho Jonas Wilson, Aaron Sinclair‘s newest release brings a stripped-down, slightly more acoustic sound with Sinclair’s singular voice exploring the depths of isolation. “‘Secrets‘ is about your life, and acknowledging that you might be skating on it,” Sinclair explains. “Take heed and look around. You might think you are alone, but we might all be alone. One big alone party, except you also might be a huge giant a**hole.” The rumination is illuminating – as is Sinclair’s wryness. “It’s a fine line.”
A. Sinclair celebrates the new single with a release party presented by Mr. Pink Records this Sunday, Dec. 5, at Hole In the Wall, 2538 Guadalupe. They’re joined on the bill by label mates Cold Jackets, Altamesa and Kingcaid. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the music starts at 8 p.m.
