Take a scroll through the Nine Mile Records roster and quite a few familiar faces will pop up, especially if you’ve been keeping up with the Austin Music Minute. BOOM.
The independent label has a lot to brag about, with several standout Austin-based songwriters and bands, each with a rep for delivering fantastic live performances. Nine Mile founder Rick Pierik is all about the live performance, and that’s exactly the way the label’s celebrating its 15-year anniversary, with three shows are lined up at Empire Control Room, 606 E. 7th St.
The party kicks off tonight, Friday Dec. 10, with Shinyribs, Sir Woman and Nuevo. Tomorrow, Saturday Dec. 11, Sweet Spirit takes over with Go Fever and The Deer. And Sunday, Dec. 12, the celebration wraps up with a Glorietta reunion, with Greyhounds and Buffalo Hunt on the bill.
