Your AMM host gets greedy when things like Free Week and Love Austin Music Month are happening. So many shows to mention that the Music Minute would turn into a Music Hour(s). However, today’s AMM reins it in a bit to offer two picks for tonight, Wednesday Jan. 4:
- The Continental Club on S. Congress Ave. is home to a weekly residency featuring Jon Dee Graham, William Harries Graham, and Carrie Fussell of Calliope Musicals performing a magical solo set. Gems, one and all. The music starts at 9:30 p.m. If you’re there for happy hour, enjoy a set by Hot Club of Cowtown starting at 6:30 p.m.
- And there’s an excellent Free Week line-up at the Mohawk on Red River, with New Strangers (“Cold Shoulders” is one of today’s AMM-featured tracks), Luxury Television and Fun House. Inside stage, doors at 7 p.m.
