Today, it’s predicted to reach a high of 101 degrees in Austin – so, as you idle on the highway, trying to force your car’s A/C past its maximum level, you may enjoy today’s Song of the Day: “Texas in July” by Austin band KNETX. This upbeat psych rock meets funk tune may be more energetic than you feel right now, but with wailing guitars reminiscent of rising heat, the witty lyrics, performed by charismatic lead singer Mike Kiddoo, and the upbeat backup vocalists chanting “Heat! Sweat!”, “Texas in July” will make you feel more optimistic about this heat wave than any weather report will.
