This week on In Black America, producer and host John L. Hanson, Jr. presents a tribute to pioneering journalist the late Robert C. Maynard, newspaper publisher, editor and former owner of the Oakland Tribune newspaper, the first African American to own a major daily newspaper, with an interview recorded in 1985. Maynard died in August 1993.
