So Ready

Lola Tried‘s 2018 self-titled release is worth repeated listens to get to know the band’s far-ranging dynamic. And while you’re at it, make time for their 2017 release Popsicle Queen. Across the board, you’ve got pop-rock with all wires and nerves exposed, every detailed epoch of guitar-shredded realization or slightly mellower reckoning all surfaces in full confrontation.  Vocalist/songwriter Lauren Burton understands that restraint has no place in these moments of release. Say it out loud. In your face, jerks.

If ever a band was ready to return to live music, it’s Lola Tried. Take a quick peek at their Instagram for a video preview of the ferocity they bring to the stage. Then catch them tomorrow night, Wednesday June 30, at the Magic Rockers of Texas residency show at Hole In the Wall, 2538 Guadalupe. Doors open at 8 p.m., and Casey Barnes‘ musical head trip I’d Die For Lo Fi kicks off the night at 9 p.m.

Holy hell, this rules.
