KUTX, the City of Austin Music and Entertainment Division and the Austin Music Foundation have designated February as Love Austin Music Month, and the AMM is highlighting online various performances by Austin-based artists.
Even in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges faced by musicians during the pandemic, Mobley has leaned into the chaos to get his music out through livestreams and strategically-planned socially-distanced performances – literally performing curbside or on front lawns. And now, with his new album Young and Dying In the Occident Supreme set to drop this week, Mobley will launch an incredible 9-date virtual tour, intimate performances done on a cinematic scale. Every set will be unique for each individual city – Austin, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, LA, Houston, San Francisco and more – done on stages, natural settings, unconventional spaces, all seen from the comfort and safety of your home.
Tickets for each show are pay-what-you-can, with proceeds benefitting the DAWA fund and select music venues in each respective city. The virtual tour kicks off Thursday Feb. 25, but Mobley has a livestream set scheduled for 4 p.m. (Central) this Friday, Feb. 19, on Waterloo Records’ Facebook Live.
