-Forget the slow cruise. Time to slam on the gas. The Texas Gentlemen got the Southern rock/country funk all lit on the skillet with their second LP, Floor It!!!, sliding in some New Orleans-style jazz, R&B, gospel, and classic pop. And it’s horns and strings from the heavenly chorus, y’all. That’s what you get when you floor it like that – a joy ride.
–Delta Spirit co-founder and lead vocalist Matthew Logan Vasquez has an excellent solo catalogue to boast, including the melodic flights of Vasquez’ third LP Light’n Up, an intimate glimpse into the songwriter’s life through a mosaic of folk, rock, pop and beyond. A bit of everything, unapologetically so.
It’s your bill for the show tonight, Saturday June 5, at ACL Live at The Moody Theater, 310 Willie Nelson Blvd. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 8 p.m. Masks required for entry.
