Just hop on a barge and put on a show with your band as it goes down the river. Sounds about right.
Before the pedants come ranting about how it’s been done before, in varying degrees, yes, the Austin Music Minute is well aware of that, thanks for butting in. It’s just that Liam Gallagher decided it would be an absolute delight to run with the idea during a pandemic because…well…it’s socially-distanced, isn’t it? Obviously, the next level is to livestream the damn show for everyone round the world.
Liam Gallagher: Down By the River Thames features the no-nonsense Oasis cofounder/vocalist/songwriter performing favorites from his old band and badass tracks from his solo releases, as he and his current band travel along the Thames on an ‘effing barge. Perfection. The show kicks off at 10 p.m. (Central) Saturday December 4, via MelodyVR, and ticket information can be found on Gallagher’s website.
All right, LG. Show ’em who’s boss.
