As if you needed an invitation. You know Tameca Jones is a spectacular performer, and this is one of tonight’s must-see shows at Antone’s. Austin’s empress of soul started out as lead vocalist/songwriter for 8 Million Stories before making a big splash of her own as a solo artist – which includes guest vocals on Gary Clark Jr.‘s powerful narrative The Story of Sonny Boy Slim, a grand debut at the 2015 ACL Fest, and getting the attention of Billboard and Esquire, in addition to an Austin Music Award, for that dynamic voice.
It’s been one hell of a journey so far, and it’s only the beginning. Jones headlines tonight’s Antone’s show with a fabulous bill featuring Riders Against the Storm and a set by R&B/soul outfit Motenko. Doors at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m.
