Seemed fun at first, but…nah, don’t wanna be paired with a death wish. “I ain’t hangin’ out the window / Good luck, good run,” says Abhi the Nomad in his sendoff to insanity, “Good Luck” from Abhi vs. The Universe. And this, his fourth studio album, conquers the universe head-on. Each track flows magnificently into the other in an epic roller coaster journey right up to the finale, “Circle,” as the dark humor dissipates into a vulnerable declaration that pulls the damn rug from beneath your feet.
You have got to see this show. Abhi the Nomad performs tomorrow night, Friday March 4, at the Historic Scoot Inn, 1308 E. 4th St., on a gargantuan bill featuring Rhode Island artist Khary, and ATX artists Magna Carda and Deezie Brown.
