Big Broadcast: Mapping Austin Music

From the Moose Lodge to the Bergstrom International Airport, Austin is full of hidden music spaces. This week on Texas Music Matters the Austin Music Map takes us on a tour of the music venues that fly under the radar. All that and the weeks music news on the next edition of Texas Music Matters Friday at noon and Friday night at 11pm on KUT 90.5.

Big Broadcast: Thanks For The Music

It’s been an historic year for KUT, and we have lots to be thankful for. On this week’s holiday edition of Texas Music Matters, we turn the spotlight on our new Studio 1A. Join Ryan Bingham, Alejandro Escovedo, The Heavy, Citizen Cope and many more great artists (plus some of the folks behind the scenes here at KUT) as we celebrate the crown jewel of our new home–and a new hub for live music in Austin. That’s on the next Texas Music Matters. Friday at noon and again Friday night at 11 on KUT 90.5.

Big Broadcast: Cars & Guitars

On this week’s Texas Music Matters we celebrate the inaugural U.S. F1 Grand Prix in Austin with a musical tribute to the automobile. Texas has no shortage of car songs but with some help from our listeners and the staff here at KUT we narrowed them down the top 15 (or so) Texas songs about cars. Tune in Friday at noon or Friday night at 11pm for a special Texas Music Matters homage to internal combustion.

Big Broadcast: New Studios, Fond Farewells, and a Powwow Austin Style

This week on Texas Music Matters we break in our brand new Session Studio at the Belo Center for New Media with some fresh faces and Austin originals. Also, we remember one of Austin’s most famous music fans, visit a modern day powwow, and new music from Aimee Bobruk. We’ll have all that plus the week’s music news on this edition of Texas Music Matters Friday at noon and Friday night at 11pm.
