Cosmic Love

By: Laurie Gallardo

Pour out all the trippy colors. ATX psych-surf rockers Cosmic Chaos released a new video for “Average Legs” (featured on today’s Austin Music Minute) a few months ago, and now they’re ready to unleash all the new tunes on their latest LP, Eye Can See. Recorded by vocalist/guitarist Laura Mendoza and Magic Rockers of Texas madman Jim Campo, the album includes guest performers Emma Boly (flute), Tanner Holtz (violin), David Alvarez (sax) and Nick Crespo (bass) – what your AMM host refers to an all-around family affair with all the friends involved in this awesomeness.

So, in conjunction with The City of Austin Music and Entertainment Division and the Austin Music Foundation‘s Love Austin Music Month celebration, today’s AMM puts the spotlight on Cosmic Chaos for their tour kickoff and album release show tonight at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 901 Red River. They’re playing Eye Can See in its entirety, with flute/strings/bass accompaniment by all the LP guests along with violinist Bailea Woodall, and the bill includes Acid Carousel, Magic Rockers of Texas, and My Mistress.

This is a badass show. The music starts at 9 p.m. So recommended.

What’s Yr Damage

Following the breakup of their previous psych-gaze band Creepoid, Anna and Patrick Troxell forged an electro post-punk dynamic as the duo Lovelorn. And now the ATX-by-way-of Philly outfit is ramping things up with two new additions to the line-up, guitarists Steve Pike and Kyle Harris. No doubt extra shreds will add even more discordant dimensions […]
