If you follow the work of Katie Crutchfield (Waxahatchee) and Jess Williamson, you know that Plains is a brilliant pairing of minds and talent. Not only is there a mutual admiration for each other’s work, but Crutchfield and Williamson connect through a unique storytelling vision and lyricism. I Walked With You A Ways brings a sense of place, a sense of self; a sharp and simple truth-telling, and captivating imagery taken directly from vivid memories of a Texas landscape – really, the mood that the landscape can invoke.
Following their performance this afternoon in KUTX’s Studio 1A, Plains has a show tonight, Tuesday Nov. 1, at Scoot Inn, 1308 E. 4th St. Asheville, NC-based artist MJ Lenderman opens the show. Doors at 6 p.m.
